What
is your Privacy Policy?
1.
When you place an order with West Skelston Services Ltd , using
our secure on-line server, we ask you for your name, address and
phone number. These details are used by us and our agents and contractors
to enable your order to be delivered to you as accurately and as
quickly as possible. We do not use them for any other purpose. WSS
does not maintain a database containing your private information
and we do not pass on that information to anyone else other than
for delivery purposes to our carrier companies, neither do we send
“random” marketing emails to personal email addresses
(spam).
2.
We use Cookies, which are small text files on your computer containing
identifying information, to make the link between you and the information
you have provided to the website. This allows your shopping basket
to be kept separate from other users and enables us to automatically
complete some of the forms we ask you to fill in. The creation of
a cookie on your computer does not give the website any access to
other information such as your e-mail address. You can turn off
cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options
| Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies,
you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features

3.
We conform to the Data Protection Act 1998.
How
do I know my credit card and other details are safe?
Every on-line
transaction made within the West Skelston Services Ltd Shop is transmitted
across the Internet using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption.
This industry standard method ensures that information sent from
your browser is scrambled whilst in transit and decoded when it
arrives on our server. When we receive the information containing
your details, this is done using PGP encrypted mail. We take the
issue of security very seriously and have taken every step possible
to protect you. Our servers sit behind a state of the art hardware
fire wall and we have employed the services of one of the countries
leading security experts who regularly monitors and updates our
systems.
When
is my credit card debited?
Your card will
normally be debited when the goods are dispatched. An authorisation
takes place when you make your order, this simply guarantees that
the funds are available on your card and that payment will be made
to us. This authorisation remains valid for ten days. When the goods
are dispatched, the order management system will debit funds from
your account overnight directly into our account.

What risks are involved in buying online?
From a shopper’s
point of view, the risks involved in buying online are virtually
nil. All personal data, including your card number is transmitted
over secure connections, meaning that no-one can 'eavesdrop' and
capture your details. You are protected because the transaction
was carried out as 'Cardholder not present.' This means that any
payments will be refunded to your card should it be used fraudulently
by someone else or you do not receive what you ordered. West Skelston
Services will never forward your information without your consent.
Why
am I having problems when pressing the order button?
It is possible
that you are using an old browser that doesn't support SSL encryption
or you are browsing from behind a corporate firewall that will not
allow secure connections. Speak to the system administrator at your
office. They will either fix the problem or you will have to order
from another location. To check, point your browser to https://www.microsoft.com/
if you cannot connect to the Microsoft secure server it is likely
that one of the above is causing the problem.
How
long do you take to deliver?
Generally speaking
your goods will be dispatched on a next working day carriage. If
it is going to take longer, we would try to let you know. If you
have not received your order when you expect it to arrive, please
let us know straight away by telephone on 01387 739445 or by email
at sales@westskelstonservices.co.uk so that we can sort it out.

Can
I buy without a credit card?
The vast majority
of our business is done via credit card transactions over the telephone,
as this type of payment lends itself to Internet trading as it is
fast, easy, secure and (relatively) painless. If however this is
not convenient for you, we are happy to accept a cheque sent by
post, but we would need time to clear it first before we dispatched.
